Comments: "I have a hole in my engine!"

October 19, 2009
Most of the comments we receive are from shop owners and technicians. The comments are intelligent, insightful and helpful. But, sometimes we get the random consumer that finds their way onto our website. These people come to our website thinking that they will get free advice that will magically fix there car. Below are some of the gems we have received in just the past month. I have not edited there original comments and left them as is. Please, do not read if you are offended by bad grammar, spelling or the use of emoticons.

Where do I start? The bad spelling, lack of capitalization or his friend that looked at the car for him.  I think his biggest problem is that he owns an Aveo.

Comment: I really wish I could find a service manual with this. I've gotten spoiled
ordering them on CD from eBay.  There are a lot modifications I would like
to do when it gets closer to the warranty expiration.  So far I've been able
to average over 31MPG just doing small things and driving smarter.

This comment was in regards to a story about servicing hybrid vehicles. Isn't it amazing a person will buy a $30,000 vehicle and service it with pirated information from a $9.95 Ebay auction?

Comment: I went and got a MAP senser then found out that my car don't have one. So I
bought a MAF senser and the car cuts out on low RPM and has low power until
you hit high RPM.

What parts store is this guy going to?
